Ferrari began producing cars in 1947 and became one of the top Italian sports car brands in the world. The 1990 Ferrari Testarossa is a Ferrari model that's known for its iconic 1980s styling and performance after it was originally introduced in 1984. The car has a 4.9-liter, flat-12 engine with an impressive horsepower of 376–385. It can also reach a top speed of 180 miles per hour. The Ferrari Testarossa's name comes from the Italian phrase ‘testa rossa’, which literally translates to "red head". This pays homage to the 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, which won the World Sportscar Championship.

After getting damaged in an accident, the Ferrari came to get its two rear wings repaired. Most of the main body of the car was originally constructed out of aluminium, including the two rear wings which were bought in for repair. Our master craftsman had to remove the rear wings and reconstruct the original panels from pictures!

When repairing the wings the aim was to use as little filler or material as possible to bring it back to its original standard. The team started by removing the panel and assessing the damage. Then stripped off the paint and removed the under seal. To avoid using as little material as possible they then went through a process of annealing the material, allowing our panel beater to tap out the damage using hammers and dollys. This master craftsmanship and metal work required a fine touch and experience to reconstruct, as aluminium is prone to cracking.

This Ferrari also tried out our rolling road. This is our new state-of-the-art two-wheel drive, housed in our soundproof enclosure. As engine modifications often impact performance only at specific RPMs or for short periods. Our rolling road is the perfect tool for diagnosing these issues, allowing us to hold consistent loads and revs longer than on the road.
